Hello! You can call me Grace if you please. I post lots of Merlin, Hunger Games, OUAT, Sherlock, Atlantis, BBC Robin Hood, a bit of Teen Titans, and some Disney and Harry Potter. The strength of my fangirling over Colin Morgan kinda scares me. Feel free to talk to me whenever about anything! Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy!

Don’t tell Umbridge!

Cause people just assumes Slytherin is evil and Merlin is an innocent little flower

It makes me so sad! Merlin has manipulated Arthur (even subconsciously) so many times, it’s almost terrifying. There’s a reason Merlin, in his most powerful state, would be one of the most fearsome creatures to behold. And it’s not just the sheer magnitude of his power. It’s his ability to get the job done, no matter what the cost, and his ability with words.

Think about it.

Why do we all think Merlin is this innocent flower? Because of his charm, charisma, and carefree attitude. We are so willing to overlook his murderous tendencies because we love him so much. And what has he just done to us? He’s manipulated us, even if he (and we) didn’t realize it. And that’s one of the most prominent Slytherin traits.

Right next to traditionalism (bring back the ways of the Old Religion, knock knock), ambition (to fulfill his destiny at any cost), and disregard for the rules (willing to live in Camelot despite magic being outlawed AND being willing to kill for his cause/loved ones because the end justifies the means).

In the wrong hands, this sword can do great evil. You must promise me, Merlin, that once it’s task is done, you will place it where none can wield it.

colinodonorgasm:

O’Donoghue was so good at showing in the tense way he carried himself throughout all of his interactions with Storybrooke Ariel that he was horribly guilt-ridden by what had happened to Eric. (x)

But how can you not believe that Merlin was in Slytherin? Everything about Merlin breathes Slytherin. He’s cunning, manipulative, extremely ambitious, and willing to do absolutely anything to protect his cause and loved ones, even to the point of killing for them.

All those qualities can be bad qualities, yes, and make it easier to turn to the dark side. But you can’t honestly sit there and tell me that Merlin most likely didn’t have the personality tweaks that could have easily lent him to turn evil.

Merlin is not the sunshine and character we favor him to be. Merlin is bright and cheery, but he is also incredibly dark and ruthless. The difference between Merlin and most Slytherins is that Merlin didn’t allow those qualities to overcome him. He may be dark, but he is most definitely not evil.

But he is most definitely a Slytherin.

Our choices seal our fate.
